Le Master STPE bénéficie du rôle moteur joué par les laboratoires de recherche nancéiens, qui couvrent tout le panel des Géosciences, et des liens forts avec l'INERIS (Institut National de l'Environnement Industriel et des Risques).
Les cours du Parcours " Génie minier et Risques / Mining and Risk Engineering" se déroulent pour l'essentiel sur le site de Mines Nancy, sur le campus ARTEM.
